Texas Persimmon

Texas Persimmon

Texas Persimmon (Chapote) Diospyros texana

This a great small Texas native. It is deciduous with a slow growth rate and minimal water needs after established. Great for Parker County as it grows well in alkaline soil and summer heat.

The mature tree will develop a fruit that will be enjoyed by area wildlife. This is a tree that will do well with little water or attention. The bark can be easily damaged, so care must be taken with lawn care around the tree.
