Butterfly Weed Asclepias tunerosa
Grows in sun to dappled shade, evergreen. Mature size 24″x8″. Blooms early summer to fall in orange, red, and yellow. Requires well-drained soil. Excellent for the butterfly garden. Deadheading prolongs blooms. Host plant for the monarch caterpillar. Cut plant to the ground in winter. Deer resistant. Drought tolerant plant. 12-31-2015
