What are the best plants to have in my landscape to keep a healthy bird population?

Below is a list of plants that will help you keep a good population of birds year round. Most birds migrate to warmer climates in the winter. There are a good number that do not, so a good variety of food sources and nesting areas are important to keep a good bird population.

The list includes some plants you might not find attractive, desirable, or will work in your landscape. For those plants use another to create a food source or habitat. Possible a plant can be grown in a location that is not a central focus point and will be helpful in creating that bird habitat.
