Please discuss native plants for Parker County.

For best results, we recommend that you use plants that are native to our area, or have been proven to be adaptable to the soils and climate of Parker County. These plants will thrive with a reasonable amount of care, and will survive our worst conditions even with minimal attention.

The best part, this doesn't mean that your landscape will consist of nothing by bull nettle and greenbriar.

From the real dirt A Gardening Handbook for Parker County. The handbook contains 378 perennials, shrubs, trees, vines groundcovers, herbs and ornamental grasses that are proven winners.

Native trees and shrubs for Texas can be found at the following sites: (Remember just because they are native to Texas does not mean they are the best for Parker County. Put them to the same test you would any plant you are considering for your landscape.)
