These are some of our ongoing projects:

Crabapple Malus angustifolia

Slow growing deciduous tree. Will need irrigation to get established, then drought tolerant. Does well in Parker County alkaline soils. This Texas native gives excellent fall color and a showy and fragrant flower in the spring. Great for bees and butterflies.

The Crabapple does have fruit that can be enjoyed by wildlife. This tree is subject to issues with fall web worms, borers, scab, canker, and aphids. Yes, the fruit can create a mess as well. Otherwise this is a great small tree.
